Summer Camp
JUNE 27TH - AUGUST 5TH 2022
We are excited to announce this summer's camp theme is "Discover Our World!" Campers will engage in hands-on exploration of the world through the study of nature, animals, nutrition, science, the arts and architecture. Each week will explore its theme through science, art, literature and the world around us. Our summer program also incorporates a healthy dose of physical activity including martial arts, soccer, yoga, and free play.
Camp will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm.
Cost: $275 per week
An Aftercare Program can be arranged from 3:00-5:00PM at an additional cost.
Week 1: Nature Week
Week of June 27th
Get ready to learn about bugs, slugs and other organisms that work together to help our world thrive. Summer campers will start a butterfly garden, learn all about the local trees and birds in them, and end the week with a fun nature exploration!
Week 2: Water Week
Week of July 4th (no camp on Monday July 4th)
Splash into fun with this week designed around one of the most ubiquitous substances on earth! Summer just isn't summer if you don't enjoy some water balloon games!
Week 3 Zoo Week
Week of July 11th
We'd be LION if we said we weren't excited about meeting the new lion cub at the Lincoln Park Zoo after spending a week learning about all of the beautiful animals that are housed there. Get ready to roar, howl, and hoot during this fun and wild week!
Week 4: Chef Week
Week of July 18th
Let's get cooking into a week that will help explore nutrition, the human body and how what we consume impacts the way we grow and change. Kids will learn some fun new recipes and get a chance to make some yummy creations!
Week 5: Architecture Week
Week of July 25th
Chicago is one of the most incredible architectural cities in the world. We can't wait for summer campers to explore their surroundings and create their own architectural designs and end their week exploring the city they live in!
Week 6: Drama Week: "The Really Big Show"
Week of August 1st
Step right up to the Show written and performed by the summer campers themselves!! Costumes and sets will be worked on throughout the 6 weeks of summer camp and all children will have learned a adRAPtation by Chicago's very own Q Brothers Collective and Prairie Parent Jackson Doran! At the end of week the entire summer camp will be invited to the final show, participate in the performance, and receive a specialized edited video recording of the event!
